Custom radiator heat-meter covers

Challenge

New heat-allocation meters had been installed beside legacy metal brackets that could not be removed safely from the radiators. The property required a clean, repeatable cover that concealed the installation without obstructing the meter display.

Site measurement

GausArc made several site visits to measure the installed equipment and review the fit directly on the radiators. These visits established the available envelope, display position and practical requirements for fitting and removal.

Development and iteration

Three physical prototypes were produced in PETG using FDM. Several in-situ validation rounds informed refinements to the cover geometry and retention system.

The final design uses integrated rear clips to retain the meter. Dedicated access holes accept release tools so the clips can be disengaged when the cover needs to be removed, following a principle comparable to automotive radio-release keys.

Validation

Gabriel and the clients checked the prototypes in situ. The final iteration was validated against the installed meter and radiator arrangement before the production run.

Production

GausArc manufactured 150 covers in white PETG. The clients subsequently installed the finished units at the residential property.
